Don Morris joined Sitzmann Morris and Lavis in 1983 and became a partner in 1987. Don, along with his partners, acquired the Life Insurance division from Brown and Brown in 2020 and formed Sitzmann Morris and Boyle Insurance Agency (SMB) with his longtime partner, Daphne Boyle. In July 2021 SMB announced the retirement of Gary Sitzmann, CLU from SMB. Simultaneously, Don and Daphne changed the name to Morris Boyle Insurance Agency and combined their firm with The Alera Group (www.aleragroup.com) to better serve their clients and advisors.
Don’s practice specializes in assisting ultra high net worth individuals and their families in keeping their estates intact that they have worked their entire lifetime to build. His 38 years in the Life Insurance industry has made him a trusted advisor to affluent families and he has maintained relationships with those families from generation to generation. Don believes in the Wisdom of We®, the idea that the planning process should be a collaborative one between the client and their advisor team.
Don continues to actively educate himself in new products and methods and is considered a subject matter expert in estate planning funding utilizing life insurance products, business continuity strategies, and disability income insurance. He has received awards and recognition from various industry groups, and he has been a featured main platform speaker on life insurance at many industry events.

Don earned a Political Science degree from the University of California at Berkeley in 1982 where he met his wife Kathy. They reside in Belvedere, California and enjoy spending time with their daughters Sophie & Madeline. Don is a supporter of bay area community charities including the Oakland Boy’s & Girl’s Club of America. In his free time he enjoys playing golf with his friends and clients around the country.
